Statistical Consulting
Applied expertise in data science, statistics, and interdisciplinary projects
I offer statistical consulting services for companies, government agencies, and research institutions. Together with my research group, I can support projects that require rigorous statistical methodology, reproducible workflows, and modern data science approaches. Our expertise covers:
- Spatiotemporal statistics and econometrics
- Volatility and risk modelling
- Statistical process monitoring and quality control
- Machine learning and regularised estimation methods
- Applied data analysis in environmental, financial, and engineering contexts
Recent Project
One recent project was carried out in collaboration with partners from construction engineering and building informatics. The project investigated innovative cost management based on Building Information Modelling (BIM), summarised in the following publication:
Bahlau, S., Butenhof, F., Schumacher, R., Kelm, A., Meins-Becker, A., Indorf, K., Steinmann, R., Linhard, K., Otto, P., Nasiriboroujeni, M. (2024): BIM-Effizienz: Innovatives Kostenmanagement auf Basis objektorientierter Bauwerksmodelle. BBSR-Online-Publikation 10/2024, Bonn (Full text).
In this project, my group was responsible for the statistical survival analysis of cost management processes, evaluating efficiency gains of model-based (BIM) vs. conventional workflows. The analysis demonstrated clear benefits of digital methods for both accuracy and efficiency, with direct implications for public and private construction projects.
